Hi!

So Williamsburg is a website for happy and healthy living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The Syfy network believes that a little bit of IRL magic will make us all really excited for the season premiere of their fantasy TV series, The Magicians. And to be honest, they kind of are right.

If you’re like me and literally devoured Lev Grossman’s The Magicians trilogy, or if you at least like the TV show, all of the details of the installation and the “magic” will make you excited like a little kid. Even if you haven’t seen the show or read the books yet, the installation is absolutely worth a visit. I swear!

It was a rainy gray Friday afternoon when I visited the immersive experience of Hall of Magic built within the premises of the new fancy hotel, The William Vale at 55 Wythe Ave.

If you haven’t been to Hall of Magic yet, you still have a couple of days to go--the installation goes down on Jan. 29. Their website will prompt you to book a free ticket, all of which have been sold out like last year. But worry not, Hall of Magic happily accepts walk-ins, and for once in NYC, there actually are no crazy lines or wait time. It seems that Williamsburg is not particularly overflowing with The Magicians diehearts, but hey good for us!

Hall of Magic is somewhere at the intersection of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and 29 Rooms by Refinery 29. Syfy built multiple rooms full of “magic” that literally beg you to instagram and/or snapchat them. If you’re too lazy to hold your phone, they will gladly provide you with Snapchat glasses (no joke!). The staff conveniently reminds visitors at every step of the way of the hashtags that should be used, which can be a little annoying as it distracts from the experience of magic itself and won’t let you forget that Hall of Magic is a marketing effort after all. Luckily, you will forgive them, because Hall of Magic is actually awesome, and really transports you from everyday reality of Brooklyn to … the magical reality of Brooklyn, and Brakebills University.

Here’s what’s inside.
